About ‘Chinese wall in afternoon light.’ by Rene van Heerdt

The Great Wall of China winds through the landscape as if it has always been there.

Not as a straight line, but as a series of human decisions, doubts and perseverance.
This picture shows not a monument, but a thought: how far humans go to draw boundaries, and how nature slowly reclaims them. What was once meant to be kept out has now become a place to stand still.

I was in a place where very few tourists come, well few, comparatively speaking. After walking for over an hour, almost all the tourists had gone, and I had a beautiful view of a blank wall. So quiet, just some wind rustling, nothing else at all. Really amazing.
