An artistic and enchanted circle of tiny red and white flowers. Little flowers that have a sweet edge of bright pink in addition to the fiery red and virginal white. They are special little flowers that are present from early spring to late autumn.
But these little flowers are not always white with red. When the days are shorter, in spring and autumn, there is no white on the flowers. But as the days get longer, the all-white bit on the flowers emerges. It is a special process that repeats itself every year.
These tiny and cute little flowers are from a Salvia with the lovely name Hot Lips (Salvia microphylla).
And such pretty flowers deserve a pretty photo. Not just any photo but an artistic work of art!
And therein lies my challenge and therein I find my inspiration.
Merging several photos of the red and white flowers creates a cheerful brightly coloured flower circle. To this I added another photo of a beautiful diamond-shaped pattern I found on a metal object. The reflection of the light on the metal object creates beautiful colours that are especially visible in the corners of this artwork.
The end result is a cheerful summer floral circle on a busy diamond-shaped pattern. There is a lot to discover in this picture.
Bring summer into your home with this Hot Lips floral circle!
I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
I find my sources of inspiration in everything around me...
