The White House (Witte Huis) on the Gelderse Kade in Rotterdam is an office building built in 1897-1898 to the design of the architect W. Molenbroek. Since then, the 43-metre high building has long been considered the tallest building in Europe. According to Unesco, it is now one of the 100 most important monuments in the Netherlands. Meanwhile, the White House is occupied by much higher office buildings and construction activities around it are still in full swing. The photo was taken on a sunny summer's day.
