In northern India and southern Nepal lives the Indian rhinoceros. Because the animals have been protected for several years, the population has been able to grow from a few hundred to now about 4,000. So this Rhinoceros is doing better but it is still vulnerable.
The Indian Rhinoceros can be recognised by size, large head, highly developed neck folds and only two skin folds on the belly. It also has only one horn on its nose. As the Rhinoceros is predominantly grey in colour, I have done this picture in a black and white hue which, in my opinion, gave it a stronger look.
