At the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, rocks lie in the wet sand, partly surrounded by a shallow tidal pool. The stones are overgrown with green seaweed, traces of the rhythm of the sea repeating itself daily.
In the background, the surf gently rolls towards the shore, with a hilly landscape beyond stretching to the horizon. The sky is slightly overcast, the light bright but diffuse, creating a soft, balanced atmosphere.
This scene is typical of the Brittany coast, where sand, stone, water and wind combine to form a changing pattern. In the stillness of the moment, the colours are subtle: brownish-grey rocks, clear sand, blue water and soft green algae.
The image shows the transience of the tide, and the marks it leaves behind. A natural coastal landscape in its simplest form - raw, calm and full of detail.
