About the artwork

Birds in general are fascinating and inspiring. The special thing about birds is that they can fly. And birds are also beautiful to look at. They often have beautiful feathers with various patterns and colours.
There is one species of bird that particularly fascinates and inspires me and that is owls.
Owls have large eyes that can keep a close eye on everything, especially at night. These big eyes are often also beautifully coloured.
And what is then also handy is that an owl's neck can turn all the way around. How turning an owl's neck is anatomically possible is certainly a feat of nature!
Owls also symbolise wisdom and also radiate strength.
I once found this owl in a second-hand shop. It was a t-shirt I wore for a long time but at some point this shirt had seen its best days.
Before the garment went into the bag of old clothes, I wanted to capture the owl to keep it forever. I combined the photo of the owl on the t-shirt with a photo of a large stone with a special structure. Digitally, this combination was further developed to create a colourful owl artwork. A dynamic artwork in bohemian style with associations to indigenous peoples, such as the Indians or the Incas.
