While no longer apparent, this work began with a photograph I took in the Burren karst limestone hills near my home in the West Ireland. After playing around with it in Photoshop for a very long time, it eventually morphed into a complete abstraction.
Depending on the season, the time of day and the weather, the bare limestone can appear a warm sandy beige, pink, steel blue-gray or even purple - something I was trying to capture and convey in this image.
