On the 1000 Miglia (Mille Miglia) road race around Italy in June 2021, the classic cars passed through Moiano, in the Comune of Citta della Pieve in Umbria which is literally 10 minutes away from where I live. It was amazing how this small, usually quiet town, came alive with the sound and movement of classic cars as they zoomed through the main street, watched and waved on by the locals, and me of course taking photographs.
Since 1977, the Mille Miglia has been run as a 'time speed distance' rally for classic and vintage cars produced no later than 1957. The cars have very distinct numbers on them, hence why I have called this piece Come in Number 99.
