It was a cold and dark winter day. Snow covered the ground and the branches of the trees. In the distance, I saw a glint of gold. I walked towards it curiously and discovered a beautiful crane. It had a long, slender neck and a graceful tail. Its feathers were white as snow, except for its wings. Those were golden and glittered in the sunlight. He looked at me with his black eyes and I felt a strange connection with him. He seemed to want to tell me something, but I could not understand him. I decided to follow him, hoping he would take me to a magical place.
The crane is a symbol of happiness, health, peace and long life in many cultures. In Japan, the crane is considered a sacred animal that brings good luck to those who see it or make an origami of it. There is also a legend that if you fold a thousand origami cranes, you may make a wish that will come true.
