After several cold nights, it's finally here and the buds of the currant trees are bursting open. It is spring. A large currant tree is blooming abundantly in Nationaal Park Drents-Friese Wold. In the background are many more smaller currant trees. These little trees have deliberately been kept vague so that they serve as a soft background for the larger, free-standing tree in the foreground. In this way the attention goes to the front tree with the delicate white flowers.
