On a beautiful September day, I visit a beautiful peat bog area in the Netherlands. It is the Fochteloërveen, on the border of Drenthe and Friesland. It is a nature reserve with Natura 2000 status. A roe deer jumps away behind a bush; the cranes neither hear nor see themselves. As the golden hour approaches, I look for a suitable location by the moor. What a lovely late summer evening. The sun is about to set and I quickly set up the camera. I need a 4-stop hard gradient filter to avoid overexposure in the sky. Brightly the last of the sunlight shines into my eyes. The grasses light up nicely in the moor. In the distance, I can already hear the geese approaching over the bog. The sun reflects in the water. The clouds take on colour and add dynamism to the picture.... Lovely, this tranquillity, these colours, this light.
