About "Cycling in Amsterdam"

About the artwork

I discovered this photographic cityscape with a view of one of the numerous canals and the beautiful gabled houses on the left bank in the autumn days of October. Amsterdam is equipped with numerous bridges where you can always find connected bicycles, the absolute trademark of the city.

Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands. It is known for its artistic heritage, an extensive canal system and narrow houses with gabled facades that date back to the city's so-called Golden Age in the 17th century. The museum quarter is home to the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum with works by Rembrandt and Vermeer and the Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art. Cycling is part of the city's culture, so the cityscape is characterised by numerous cycle paths.
Amsterdam is world-famous. When you think of Amsterdam, you automatically think of culture, history, cosmopolitanism and, of course, the famous canals.

The origins of Amsterdam's canal belt date back to the 17th century. To this day, the historic waterways characterise the image of the Dutch capital. My tip: explore Amsterdam from the water. Hire a boat or canoe and let yourself drift along.
If you want to find out more about the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Canal Museum is the right place for you.
