About ‘Daughter of the Sea’ by Elviedan Monjet

A surrealist artwork in which the sea, nature and imagination merge to create an intriguing vision. Amidst the waves and rocks, a figure emerges that seems to be formed from shells, tendrils and organic shapes. The warm tones of the hair provide a striking contrast to the cool blue-green colours of the coast and the ocean.
The combination of natural elements and fantasy creates an image that continues to captivate. With every glance, new details catch the eye: whimsical structures, intertwined plants and shapes that seem to be constantly changing. As a result, the work strikes a balance between beauty, transformation and mystery.

This piece did not arise from a preconceived concept, but from an intuitive process in which forms and associations gradually unfolded. Whilst working, I allow myself to be guided by imagination, chance and wonder. Human elements, plants and natural structures often merge into new, hybrid forms. I do not attempt to tell a story or impose a message. I find the moment when an image begins to form its own reality far more interesting. ‘Daughter of the Sea’ is just such'an image: an encounter between the sea, nature and fantasy, in which the boundaries between the human and the organic slowly blur.

Later in life, I enjoyed years of artistic training and although I learnt a lot, at some point I detached myself from wanting to conform to artistic dogma because it hindered me. I went back to the way I drew when I was a child, delightfully indulging my fantasies. The only difference is that now I also design digitally.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
