Delft Blue Rose Vase

by Christian Ovís

Delft Blue Rose Vase depicts a full bouquet of blue roses in a blue-and-white vase. The flowers form a broad, rounded crown above the narrow neck of the vase. Some roses are open, revealing their curled centres; others remain more compact or lean outwards at an angle. Dark leaves fill the small spaces between the flowers. The black background makes the bouquet stand out clearly.

Light edges along the petals reveal the many layers. Deep blue shadows lend the roses volume and separate the individual flower heads. The vase has a rounded middle section and a small, round base. Large blue flowers and slender tendrils cover the white surface. The light on the front connects the vase with the lighter parts of the bouquet. At the bottom, a soft shadow lies on the dark background.

This floral still life is suitable for a living room, dining room or bedroom with blue accents and classic floral motifs. The work brings together a rich bouquet of roses with the recognisable colour palette of Delft blue. A tranquil interior design provides a backdrop for the rounded floral arrangement and the elegant vase. From a distance, the full bouquet is particularly striking; up close, the delicate petals and the details of the vase’s decoration come into their own.
