Valencia's Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía is a remarkable architectural feat and one of the city's most important cultural centres. Designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, this iconic opera house opened its doors in 2005 and has been a symbol of modern architecture and cultural development in Valencia ever since.
The design of the Palau de les Arts is inspired by organic forms, with a fluid, sculptural look reminiscent of a seagoing vessel entering the port. The building is clad in a glossy white skin, which gives it an elegant and futuristic look. The openings and windows provide abundant natural light, while the grand staircases and foyers welcome visitors to an impressive environment.
Inside, the Palau de les Arts houses four different stages, including a large opera hall with excellent acoustics, which can accommodate more than 1,400 spectators. The cultural programme is diverse, with opera, ballet, concerts and theatre, and attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world every year.
The Palau de les Arts' location on the banks of the surrounding water, along with its proximity to other iconic structures such as the L'Hemisfèric, makes it a popular spot for residents and tourists alike. For photographers, the building offers a fascinating combination of art, architecture and nature, perfect for capturing the beauty of Valencia. architecture, travel, modern, view, tourism, city, valencia, spain, europe, urban, blue, water, sky, landmark, cityscape, design, ciudad de las artes, attractiveness, building, city of arts and sciences, santiago calatrava, spectacular, structure, montolijf bridge, futurism, sports, famous, designed, construction, exterior

As an independent and passionate photographer, my autonomous work focuses on the power and simplicity of black-and-white photography. By omitting colour, I focus entirely on light, form, line play and contrast, bringing architecture and urban structures to life.
I draw my inspiration from iconic masters such as Richard Avedon, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Vivian Maier. And last but not least: Stefan Vanfleteren.
