Between Glasgow and Loch Lomond in the gently rolling countryside lies the small river Carnock Burn. This little river has carved a small but very impressive gorge in the rocky soil of the Scottish Lowlands. Red rocks and lavish green vegetation create a wonderful wealth of colours. You imagine yourself in another world. Make no mistake, however ! During heavy rainfall, this small stream can turn into a raging river that can drag large trees with it. Eventually, this water flows into Loch Lomond. Does the place look familiar? It is very possible because this location was used for the film adaptation of Diana Gabaldon's books, The Traveller.
