Three English ladies ready for a cup of tea. Let's assume that the driver has conceived this striking composition and made the picture. One is out, dressed well, including hat. They are on top of Devil's Dyke, a hill with spectacular views over a steep valley, near Brighton. Particularly popular with rest seekers and hang gliders.. During the youth of the ladies, that was totally different. Then Devil's Dyke was a top tourist attraction, with a cable car across the valley, a railway track across it and a fairground. It often attracted thousands of visitors a day. Perhaps the ladies have been there as a child. Would they still recognize it? (Collection Timeview, Where are we dear? 1961 Devil's Dyke)
