Near the town of Escalante is the unpaved Hole in the Rock road. On this road, which is passable with an ordinary car in normal weather, are a number of attractions including Devils Garden. Devils Garden consists of a collection of whimsically shaped rock sculptures, created by wind and water erosion. There are no hiking trails in the area but you can wander around on your own looking for nice spots. The area is not too big so you will not easily get lost. In the summer it can get very hot so it is wise to visit this area at the beginning or end of the day.
