About ‘Digital ultrasounds’ by Geert Van Baelen

This abstract work captures the atmosphere of a digital world in blur and repetition. Like a visual echo of a photonegative or a layered print screen, it evokes patterns of lines and shapes reminiscent of circuit boards, technical blueprints or pixels slowly dissolving.

The composition seems composed of digital overprints, as if multiple photographs or digital diagrams have been superimposed. The colours - variations of blue, red and beige - evoke the feeling of screen light and electronic noise. There is a rhythm to the chaos: repeating structures resembling digital circuits or city maps fade into the layered texture of the paint.

Using techniques reminiscent of glitch art and digital collages, this painting raises questions about how technology affects our perception. What is real, what is reproduced, and what is just a shadow of data?

"Digital Echoes" is not just a painting, but a visual exploration of the boundaries between physical and digital reality - a mosaic of modern existence.
