Although the many red leaves make this look like an autumn shot, this picture was taken in spring in a Dutch forest. The soft glow gives a dreamy and particularly atmospheric effect.
Here I was inspired by photographer Michael Orton, who in the 1980s devised a technique that would later become known as the "Orton effect". He used multiple exposures, where during one of the exposures, the photo is exposed out of focus.
Especially the bright parts get a somewhat glamorous radiance in this process, causing the dreamy image.
I applied this idea to my own taste in the digital post-processing of this photo.
Of particular note are the many shades of colour in the foliage, especially of the red leaves: fire-red to warm red-brown.
This image shows how important light fall is in photography, at any other time this would be a flat picture of some trees in a forest, but the light falling through the leaves creates depth and impact.
Shot in high resolution - very suitable for large prints, such as wallpaper.
This photo adds calmness and especially warmth to a space - and therefore fits especially well in:
lobby, hallway, waiting room or waiting room, office, a restaurant or eatery, B&B or hotel (room).
