Drifting in Rose and Gold has a soft, languid atmosphere, the kind of warmth that envelops you like a late summer afternoon when the world seems to stand still for a moment. The pink hills, golden sky and dreamy lines create a landscape that doesn’t literally exist, but which you do recognise. A timeless place where your thoughts are free to wander. This work was born from days when the sun is high, the air is heavy with heat and everything moves at a slow pace. The colours are saturated by that sense of languor. The freedom from obligation, the gentle drifting away into your own thoughts. The organic forms and playful lines evoke that semi-dreamlike state of consciousness you only experience when you come to a complete standstill. It is an ode to the luxury of doing nothing.
