About "Enchanting wind turbines in a rural idyll in the Brandenburg region"

About the artwork

I discovered this charming landscape motif with flowering fields and meadows and the wind turbines in the background in the rural area of Brandenburg on 28 August 2021 in the early evening hours.
The photo was taken with the NIKON D90 camera (lens: SIGMA 18.0-70.0 mm f/3.5-4.5).

Brandenburg is the second strongest wind energy state in Germany after Lower Saxony. Around 4,100 wind turbines with a total output of around 9,000 MW are currently installed (as of 01/2025).

Wind turbines are spread across the entire country, with certain regions such as the Uckermark and Lusatia forming the focal points.

There are regional differences in terms of the number and output of wind turbines. The Uckermark and Lusatia are particularly windy and are therefore centres of wind energy use.
Other regions, such as Havelland and Prignitz, also have a relevant proportion of wind turbines.
Future developments:
The state government is endeavouring to further expand wind energy in order to achieve the climate targets.
The planning of new wind farms and the upgrading of existing plants are important components of this strategy.
