I made this work as part of my collection entitled 'liminality'. A (I think) beautiful word that stands for a period when you are no longer who you once were, but also not quite who you will become. Basically always so;)
Escape, for me, represents the fluid space in which the old has been left behind, but the new has yet to take shape. This transitional area is both vulnerable and challenging, a 'in-between space' of transition and uncertainty, with the limitless possibilities of imagination if you manage to escape 'the old'.
For this work, I transformed my research on the subject of liminality into poetic texts and engaged in conversation with AI on the subject. I then combined, mixed and edited the components digitally until the image I wanted to create emerged: Escape.
