Inspired by Louis Armstrong's song, I created this Wonderful World, as a reminder that no matter how spicy life may be sometimes, there is always a wonderful world to be found somewhere.
This piece is a mix of a detailed photograph I took of a 17th-century painted ceiling in Guimarães, Portugal. I combined a cutout of the historic ceiling with digital paint.
(For the colours and nature I painted with it, I was inspired by the song 'The Birds and the Bees by Jewel Akens. You probably know it? "Let me tell you about the birds and the bees, and the flowers and the trees";)
With this, I mixed the past with the present, with the timeless message: everything is okay, or will be soon.
This work is most beautiful in a size of up to 80 cm.
