Water droplets photographed up close. But not just any drops, they became special creations!
And to emphasize the special shapes, I set this photo in a warm brown earth tone. Different colors would create too much of a distraction here.
For this photo I used multiple exposure: a photo technique where you mix two or more photos. You can use this to create artistic and creative photos. This is my favorite technique to use when taking photos.
Drip photography comes in many forms. It is also a fun subject to photograph.
So with multiple exposure, here I took three photos interchangeably of the same water droplets. Only in each photo I have set the depth of field differently. The focus is therefore three times on a different point in this work of art.
Thus, strange patterns and mysterious stripes suddenly appear on the drops. This creates an alien atmosphere and that's what I love to do: turn 'ordinary' subjects into a creative photo so that it looks like something else. So here it looks like you are looking at a piece of another planet. Mars perhaps with its warm orange-brown tones? Beautiful, almost abstract, monochrome dreamscape in a vintage color.
I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
