With the light falling on the tufts of this beautiful Tragopogon making the tufts appear to glow golden, I had finally achieved in this photo what I wanted to create. An image that has something refined and fragile, but is also clearly present in the photo and almost frame-filling. I think this is partly due to the contrast between the golden brown colour of the fluff and the petrol background.
I chose the title "Eyecatcher from the heart: Golden brown fluff in warm light" because it looks as if I took the photo almost from the heart of the Tragopogon. As a result, the fluff comes so full frame in the picture.
I chose the depth of field in this photo so that the focus lies at the transition from the stalk to the fine fluffy part of the two middle front fluffy parts. From there, the sharpness gradually decreases towards both the front and back. This creates calmness in the photo and a sense of depth. If you zoom in on the photo, you can see this nicely. It also creates a kind of abstraction in the photo. The fluff turns into a kind of play of lines.
