About ‘Falling River Veil’ by Manuela Dekkers

Falling River Veil explores movement as surrender. The work shows no flow with direction or speed, but a downward softening - as if form is letting go of itself and disintegrating into layers.

Transparent surfaces flow over each other like veils of water, where cool blue-grey, mother-of-pearl and soft silver meet. Fine lines connect the layers vertically, not as structure, but as a reminder of cohesion. Small floral elements float through the image as silent witnesses, detached from origin and destination.

Within Mythos of Spring, this work represents the moment in which becoming is no longer tense, but allows. Where earlier works explore the threshold or awakening, Falling River Veil shows what happens when resistance disappears and movement follows its own rhythm.

The work remains conscious without a centre or focal point. The gaze is allowed to wander, to slow down, to sink. Meaning unfolds not linearly, but in repetition and softness - like water that does not force a form, but carries everything.

Designed as contemplative wall art, Falling River Veil invites stillness and letting go. It is a sculpture that does not fill a space, but softens it - introducing tranquillity through its fluid presence.
