Every year the wait. The first snow, when will it come? Will it turn the world into a winter wonderland? Will it cover nature like a thick down blanket? Often the sky announces its coming. Wild clouds, exciting colours. Then, often quietly, very quietly, it starts. The first flakes fall. Sometimes thick and fluffy. Sometimes soft and gentle. Almost invisible. All of nature in a blue glow. Even the shadows in the deepest blue-black. In between, lighter tones, bright blue.
The trees as if sugared. White clouds on dark wood. It's here, the first snow! And with it, winter. The finale in the cycle of the year. The retreat of nature and people. Arriving at oneself. Inspiration in my homeland Lower Austria, where gentle hills meet rough rocks. Where fields lie next to forests. Where wine ripens in terraces. Where there is diversity and contrast. And yet, everything blends into a harmonious whole!
For me, painting has been language, relaxation and a fountain of energy at the same time since childhood.
