About "Fishing life in Mui Ne"

About the artwork

In the coastal town of Mui Ne in Vietnam, daily life still largely takes place along the waterline. This photo shows a fisherman's wife during her morning routine: squatting on the wet sand, concentrating on sorting her catch. Around her are a few plastic buckets, a red basket and a fishing net, simple tools that tell a great story of tradition and perseverance.

What makes this scene special for me is the perspective. I chose a low vantage point, almost at eye level with the beach, which really draws you into the moment as a viewer. You can almost smell the salty air and hear the gentle lapping of the waves in the distance.

The lighting was just right. The sun was still low and provided soft, warm light that fell beautifully on the fisherwoman and her buckets. The details in her clothes, a red-and-black chequered shirt and a traditional conical hat (nón lá), are therefore highlighted. At the same time, the blurring of the background ensures that the silhouette of the familiar round coracle boats remains just visible, without distracting from the main subject. These boats are characteristic of the Vietnamese coast and add context to the image.

For me, this photo is an ode to the simplicity and beauty of everyday life. No grand gestures or dramatic landscapes, but a moment you might normally walk past, captured in a way that invites you to pause for a moment.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
