Floating Ribbon Twist

by Christian Ovís

‘Floating Ribbon Twist’ depicts a compact, abstract form of wide bands against a grey background. At the top, white, green and dark blue bands form a circular curve. Below this, a yellow and a light blue band cross each other diagonally. A pink band extends freely outwards on the right. At the bottom, an orange and red band runs across the light surface in a broad U-shape.

The composition combines straight edges with flowing curves. The upper curve has a dark interior and light outer edges, making the depth clearly visible. The two diagonal bands appear to pass in front of the curved shapes. Beneath the lower arch lies a soft shadow that anchors the image to the background. The limited number of strips makes the colour distribution clear and well-organised. There are generous openings between the sections through which the background is visible.

This colourful abstract wall decoration suits a modern interior with calm base tones and graphic accents. In a living room, study or creative space, the piece can serve as a playful focal point. Yellow, blue or pink accessories can complement the straight bands. From a distance, the interplay of intersecting lines and curves stands out; up close, the light edges, dark reverse sides and subtle shadows become visible.
