"Fragile together: Two leaves of the Bougainvillea" is a still life I photographed of two set leaves of the Bougainvillea. They look like two leaves but if you look closely you can see that they are sets. But the two front leaves are the centre of the photo and this is where the emphasis is and also the focus.
The leaves have been dried by the Spanish sun. This has made the leaves very fragile and thin
and the grain structure is very visible. The leaves have also become a little transparent, so you can sometimes vaguely see the leaf behind them. This gives a nice effect.
Because the leaves lie on a reflective surface, you can see the leaves in the ground surface, seen from a different angle.
The background colour is mixed and consists of many different shades of green, such as olive green and pistachio green.
This still life with soft shades could hang beautifully in the bedroom, waiting room or on the living room wall, for example!
