About ‘General Cemetery The Hague’ by Raoul Suermondt
The General Cemetery at Kerkhoflaan is a 19th-century cemetery in the Archipelbuurt in The Hague, on the edge of the Scheveningse Bosjes.
The cemetery was taken into use in 1830, after a royal prohibition was issued in 1829 to bury people in churches for reasons of public health. It is an attractive and green location in the city.
