"View of Delft - Behind Vase with Flowers"
This is a collage of (parts of) old paintings.
In the background you can see the painting "View of Delft" by the 17th century Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer, which, according to research, was made around 1660-1661.
The still life with flowers in the foreground was painted around 1619 by the Dutch painter Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder (1573 - 1621).
The top of the Nieuwe Kerk can be seen, I've added extra clouds and for the detectives among us: I've added an extra beast that won't be found in the original paintings.
The stylists at Art Heroes call my art style ‘Art with a Wink’. And I couldn't agree more. Life is serious enough as it is, don't you think? ;-)
I mainly make surrealist artworks and collages, because in those artstyles I can so wonderfully unleash my creativity and unbridled..
