We see a girl walking towards the sun while her attention is focused on her phone. She is walking along the streets of Porto in Portugal. The background is formed by a house in soft colours typical of the houses there. The picture becomes interesting because of the girl, but also because of the shadows. I especially like the shadow of the lamppost falling on the wall of the house above the girl. It fills an otherwise empty space there and it brings a diagonal line within an image that is otherwise strongly composed of horizontal and vertical lines. In doing so, it enhances the dynamics of the image.
The image has a nice warm atmosphere because of the warm colour of the house and because of the low sun shining on the scene.
Although the sun is already quite low, which can be seen in the long shadows, the light is still quite bright or, as photographers say, harsh. Hard light is often not appreciated by photographers. I like to play with it so that it still creates a soft image
