About ‘Glare’ by tim eshuis

Hopefully you won’t realise straight away what this is.
At first glance, this image might look like a photograph of the starry sky.
But if you look a little longer, you’ll recognise the water’s surface.
That’s the sea in the afternoon, with the sunlight reflecting off it.

It’s actually two photos's. It’s a double exposure. One taken horizontally and one vertically.

By underexposing with a high aperture, I create a dark image with star-shaped reflections.

I’m actually hoping to create a somewhat magical atmosphere with a very everyday scene. Because in nature, we’re always surrounded by beauty.
