Gorillas (Gorilla) are a genus of African great apes belonging to the order primates, with two species. They are the largest living primates. The gorilla is a herbivore that lives in the Central and West African rainforests. Gorillas live mainly on the forest floor. The male has a height of between 1.65 m and 1.90 m, and weighs between 140 and 210 kg. Female gorillas weigh about half. Unlike chimpanzees, gorillas hardly use any tools.
