Trusses usually consist of a wooden beam structure with a filling of the spaces between ("compartments"). The posts of a truss construction are often also part of the truss construction. The infill originally consisted of wickerwork made of willow, oak, holly or hazelnut cloves covered with a mixture of straw and loam. The base of the plaiting consists of vertical wooden stakes that are fastened in holes and slots in the rules. Twigs are then plaited between them.
