The Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin is Germany's national exhibition centre for modern non-European art. The exhibition space hosts art exhibitions, concerts, dance and theatre performances and lectures on non-European art. It is one of the few institutions financed by the federal government as a so-called "beacon of culture" due to its national and international prestige and the high quality of its exhibitions and performances. Kennedy spoke here during his visit to West Berlin in 1963.
