Herinckhave is an estate in north-east Twente, rich in history, natural beauty and cultural values.
The estate in its present form and size consists of the 18th-century manor of the same name flanked by two farmhouses and surrounded by moats. Two avenues provide access to the estate. There are also several former farms and agricultural barns on the estate; the total area of woods, orchards and cultivated land is over 65 hectares.
The estate is owned by Herinckhave BV, whose main objective is to preserve the estate in compliance with the Nature Conservation Act. The Stichting Instandhouding Havezate Herinckhave has the same objectives.
The havezate itself, which largely burned down in 1959, was granted a long lease to the Overijssel Castles Foundation, which restored the house, chapel and water mill in the 1970s. In 2010, havezate with chapel and watermill were transferred back to Herinckhave BV.
The estate is not only covered by the Nature Conservation Act, large parts are also protected by the Monuments Act. Part of the estate also has the status of Archaeological Monument.
