Old wooded embankment on the Baasdam estate. Landgoed Baasdam is a 62 hectare private estate near Tubbergen. The region is characterized by the typical Twente scenery. The estate is open to walkers.
The oldest area of activity is the farmyard that was first mentioned in sources in 1402. In the process, farming took place on 15 hectares for centuries. This part with the higher camps for the cultivation of grain, the lower meadows and the surrounding wooded banks is still almost intact.
Textile manufacturers were the founders of the current estate in the first half of the last century.
Today the estate is owned by grandchildren of textile manufacturer Egbert Gorter. In the management, attention is paid to characteristic country estate elements and the theme of biodiversity is high on the agenda.
