One of the heaviest storms in decades roared across the Wadden Sea and was followed by some extreme high wate the day after.
This photo was taken at the Willem Barentzkade in West Terschelling, the quay from which the ferries of Rederij Doeksen maintain the connection with the mainland. But not on this day because it could not be seen where the quay ended and the Wadden Sea began and also some adjacent streets had been flooded.
No joy for people who wanted to get to or from the island, but a great opportunity to take some long-exposure photos to make the image even stranger and more abstract than it already looked. The still-burning streetlights provided some nice contrast to the grey weather.
