Galle Fort is one of the finest examples of Sri Lanka's colonial fortifications, originally built by the Portuguese and later transformed by the Dutch. Its cobbled streets, colourful houses and period buildings create a unique atmosphere. Visitors can explore various historic sites, such as the Dutch church and the old courthouse, and admire the iconic lighthouse with its unobstructed ocean views. The fort is also home to a number of cafés, art galleries and boutiques showcasing the work of local artisans. Perfectly preserved, this place combines natural beauty and historical heritage, offering a memorable experience.
