This collage is part of my art journal. Playfully, I got to work with magazines and acrylic paint. Here we see a woman depicted, amidst pieces of paper torn away from magazines and sections of paper painted with acrylic paint. I am always a big fan of dilapidated posters, where layer upon layer becomes visible and plays a game together. A piece of street art vibe for on the wall for a playful urban feel in the home.
Nothing in this collage is meant to be perfect. It is just allowed to be there, in all its imperfection. Just as we are also allowed to just be there with our imperfections. The text, which incidentally leaves plenty of room for your own interpretation, points towards eternal hope with words like 'everything', 'very good because', 'always hopeful'. It's up to you to fill in the gaps.
This image is incredibly fun to combine with other images from my art journal album. So be sure to take a look in this album too https://www.werkaandemuur.nl/nl/shopalbum/Collages---Art-Journal-pagina-s/125804/71937 On the background (and parts of the foreground) I painted with acrylic paint in brown, green, blue and ochre on a black background. Over this, I used transparent gel to stick on various images from magazines such as the woman and the texts and a piece of golf. All this was then photographed and given a digital filter. This filter ensures that up close (if at a large size) the image has nice abstract surfaces and from afar you can see the image in totality.
