In 2010, I was stationed in Curaçao twice for two months for my work.
In mid-February, the Hr.Ms. van Speijk arrived there in Willemsstad with full ceremonial.
With parade roll on station and delivering the usual ceremonial gun salutes in honour of the Kingdom Flag and the Governor of the Netherlands Antilles, this was a very impressive sight.
The photo was taken just after 1 of the salute shots was fired, the smoke from which is clearly visible in the photo.
