About ‘Iceworld 2’ by Johan de Jong
Originally, this series of artworks were derived from several oil paintings. Digital techniques allow me to descend very deep into the painting, like an explorer, to encounter surprising images and structures that I then isolate from the larger picture and digitally edit into a unique and independent work of art.

Johan Noordhoff
Painter, photographer and draughtsman Johan Noordhoff was born in Leeuwarden in 1950. He studied at the Academy for Visual Arts Education 'Vredeman de Vries' in the Frisian capital between 1968 and 1973. Study trips to Yugoslavia, France and Canada inspired his artistry.
