Kolob Terrace is a plateau which rises over 2500 metres above sea level. The area is part of the Zion National Park and can be accessed by the scenic Kolob Terrace Road. This road is sometimes closed for traffic till summer due to frequent blizzards and freezing temperatures. The cold, dry air provided optimal light conditions for photography, which made it possible to capture the rock-face in high detail, despite the considerable distance to the photographer.
The photo was taken on april 9, 2013 from the Kolob Teracce Road, Zion National Park, USA.
