In the Hands on Deck series at the port.

Driving through the ports of the Netherlands, I come across different spots of the ports. And often I see beautiful moments from the Hands on Deck. The crew on deck. They are often busy with their various jobs on board the seagoing vessels. This crew is busy pumping the ship's cargo. The photo is rich in details that can be seen. It is truly a port photo. Look at all the colours the pilot's ladder just visible hanging from the side. The connection points on deck. And among all these details are the men on deck. This is a real port photo raw and honest as the port is.

Port photography is a fascinating form of photography that focuses on capturing the activity in ports. Port towns are often bustling centres of trade and industry, with ships, trucks and trains moving back and forth to load and unload goods. This offers photographers the opportunity to capture beautiful images of large ships docked at the quayside, crane machines loading and unloading containers from and onto the ships, and workers busy at work. Port photography can be challenging, as there is often a lot of movement and activity, and the light is constantly changing.
