What do you see at work?
This photo offers a more intimate perspective of Con Dao's azure coast. The focus is on the sharp transition from shimmering sea to the green, steep hills on the other side. At the bottom right are basalt cliffs wet from splashing water, a fraction of the path visible. In the distance, lush islands appear like green arches on the horizon, while loose clouds playfully accentuate the blue sky. The play of colours of the water, from deep blue to bright green, catches the eye immediately and invites one to dream away at distant destinations.
What was your inspiration for this work?
During a quiet walk along the coast, I became fascinated by the interaction between light, water and land. The very view from a smaller, more focused frame allows the viewer to touch the landscape, so to speak. The details of the rocks in front, the transparent water and the imposing green mountains together emphasise the beauty and tranquillity of Con Dao as you experience it yourself during a trip: personal, pure and full of visual surprises.
What mood are you trying to set?
The image exudes calmness, natural beauty and a touch of mystery. The intimate angle suggests sitting by the water yourself and being totally in the moment, with only the sound of the waves for company.
What emotion or message do you want to convey?
This photo wants to make you feel how grand nature can be, especially when you view it from a small perspective. An invitation to slow down and look at the vivid, colourful details that make each coastline unique.
