Isla Mujeres (literally: Women's Island) is an island in the Caribbean Sea, off the coast of Mexico. The main and only town on the island is also called Isla Mujeres. The island has 11,147 inhabitants (census 2005) and belongs to the state of Quintana Roo. The island is 7 kilometres long and an average of 650 metres wide.

A temple dedicated to Ixchel was severely damaged by Hurricane Gilbert in 1988. In 2005, the island was also hit by a severe hurricane, this time called Wilma.
