The Ferrari 330 made its racing debut at the 1966 12 Hours of Sebring, driven by Mike Parkes and Bob Bondurant. After a second place in qualifying, the duo retired after 178 laps in second place with gearbox damage. However, their second appearance brought the Scuderia a historic victory. Mike Parkes, this time with partner John Surtees, won the 1000-km race at Monza ahead of the two Ford GT40s of Masten Gregory/John Whitmore and Herbert Müller/Willy Mairesse.
